The first Belgrade Tango Marathon

26.06.2010.

The first Belgrade Tango Marathon took place at Sava Passenger dock on the 26th of June, 2010. Thanks to this event, which brought together many tango artists, Belgrade citizens, as well as the passengers of the ship "Ukraine" who visited Belgrade on that day, the city of Belgrade found its place on the world map of tango destinations, which added to the tourist offer of the city. The marathon was held as part of "Days of the Danube", and many participants enjoyed the performance of the violinist and composer Sonja Kalajić, who plays the violin and the saw. In the evening, after the performance of Belgrade tango school, they also had the opportunity to learn the first steps thanks to free public lessons.

The event was organized by Tango Association of Serbia, "Tango natural" institute, Tourist Organization of Belgrade and Luka Beograd. 

The stabilization of international sailing on the Danube

28.06.2010.

After two weeks of emergency measures and revised regime of passenger ships arrivals, the situation is back to normal. For the past two weeks, many arrivals at the Passenger dock have been cancelled, but there were also ships that were waiting in Belgrade for the suspension of sailing prohibition. All ships were provided with secure service and mooring, while the naval companies whose ships were waiting without passengers for the suspension of sailing prohibition measures were given discount on the regular fees.

Belgrade Boat Carnival

20.06.2010. 

Belgrade Boat Carnival was held on the 6th of June, 2010. The spectators enjoyed an interesting program and the main stage was located at the Sava Passenger Dock. Spectators could see specially decorated boats, kids' performances and other carnival groups, dance groups, pantomimists, jugglers, clowns, actors from Serbia and abroad. According to the Tourist Organization of Belgrade, which organized the event, the aim of the Carnival was to present Belgrade as the city situated at the confluence of two rivers, as well as to contribute to the development of nautical tourism.

Cease of the sailing ban

17.06.2010.

In an official statement to the navy on 17.06.2010, harbourmaster's office in Belgrade announced the cease of the sailing ban at the sector including the Passenger dock: Danube's right bank from km 1136 to km 1187 and the left bank from km 1155 to km 1205 and on the Sava's right bank from km 0 to km 80 and on its left bank from km 0 to km 48.

Sailing bans are still enforced in some sectors of the Danube, upstream and downstream from Belgrade, which further complicates or discourages the arrival of many other ships.

Sailing ban on the Sava and the Danube

14.06.2010.

In an official statement to the navy on 14.06.2010, harbourmaster's office in Belgrade announced that due to high water level and flood protection measures there would be a temporary sailing ban in the sector of the Sava and the Danube which includes Luka Beograd's International passenger port (the restriction pertains to: the Danube's right riverbank from km 1136 to km 1187 and the left riverbank from km 1155 to km 1205 and on the right bank of Sava from km 0 to km 80 and on the left bank from km 0 to km 48).

Luka Beograd will provide special conditions for all ships which arrive in Belgrade and would have to wait for the cease of the sailing ban.

Grand opening of the season

18.03.2010.

This year, nautical tourist season opened on March 18 with the arrival of the passenger ship „Johann Strauss". Around 130 tourists, mostly English, were the first nautical tourists to visit Belgrad this year. Festive reception was organized for the first guests: brass orchestra comprising the students of Pančevo music school performed a short programme of authentic Serbian melodies, while the guests were greeted with well-known Serbian specialties: rakija and sweet pie. The passengers also received gift packages with promotional material and souvenirs.

The organizers of the festive reception were the Tourist Organization of Belgrade and Luka Beograd, with the support of PTT Serbia, which set up a mobile post office for this occasion at the port and gave out postcards of Belgrade to the guests.

Tourist-nautical season 2010

This year Luka Beograd expects to host about 400 ships with over 50 000 tourists from Germany, USA, Great Britain, Denmark, Sweden and other countries. The season started on March 18, and the last ship is expected to depart in November.

During the season the tourists visiting Belgrade, as well as its citizens, will have the opportunity to experience the atmosphere through events organized as part of the promotion of the Sava and Danube rivers, such as Belgrade boat carnival, Belgrade tango marathon, Days of the Danube etc.
